How to access past exam papers for the January 2017 exams

Need to find past exam papers in a hurry for the New Year exams?
  • Start at the Library Website
  • Under the E-Resources heading select the 'Exam Papers' link.
  • Choose College of Sciences and Health or College of Engineering (Kevin St) and then 2016 etc
  • Click on your course code e.g DT228. Select your module code and download the pdfs as required
Please note the Student Intranet password is required to access the exam papers off campus. Contact us at 01-402-4894 or email us if you need the passwords. Or grab a 'How to Find Past Exam Papers' printed guide at the library information desk.

Scopus adds CIteScore metrics to it's database



Scopus has just added CiteScore™ metrics to it's resource.

The CiteScore advantages are:

  • Comprehensive.
    CiteScore metrics are calculated using Scopus data for over 22,000 serial titles ― peer-reviewed journals, book series, conference proceedings and trade journals ― in 330 disciplines
  • Transparent. Using Scopus data, CiteScore metrics calculations are straightforward and easy to replicate.
  • Current. CiteScore Tracker shows how the current year’s CiteScore builds up each month.
  • Free. Anyone can access serial-level metrics functionality on Scopus and download the complete CiteScore metrics data from JournalMetrics.Scopus.com without cost.

If copies of your textbooks are all checked out for pre-exam study, try the eBook collection which contains many of the most popular science textbooks.

  1. Start at the Library website
  2. Click on eBooks
  3. Choose the MyiLibrary collection and search or browse as usual

Printing, Scanning or Top-Up Queries in the Library? Use the new Datapac direct student phone

Printing, copying, scanning problems or top-up queries for Datapac? The Library has recently installed a student phone in the copy/print room with a direct line to the Datapac Help Desk to help you resolve your issues faster. A line to the ICT Support Help Desk is also available.

The phone is located on the table beside the student desktop. Just follow the instructions on the poster.

October Holiday Weekend update

Kevin St Library is closed on Saturday 29th and Monday 31st October for the holiday weekend. Usual semester hours resume on Tuesday 1st November at 9am.

Semester hours are:
  • Monday - Thursday: 09.00-21.30
  • Fridays: 09.00-17.15
  • Saturdays: 9.00-16.30

Off campus access to your DIT Library Account and eResources

Did you know that DIT students and staff have an online library account?  If you are not on-campus this week you may wish to know how to renew your books online, reserve a library book or view your reading history

You can also use your DIT Library PIN and/or DIT email password to access ebooks, databases and ejournals, (including scholarly articles, standards and conference papers) from a laptop or from home. For more information see Off Campus Access

Student Group Study Rooms

Kevin St Library has 2 group study rooms available to book for groups of  2-5 students who need a space for peer tutoring, to work on group assignments or practice presentations

Rooms A206 and A207 in the library can be booked for 1 or 2 hour slots from 9am daily. Each room has a plasma screen which can be connected to your laptop or to one of the Library student use laptops. The rooms also have whiteboards and a stationery pack with markers and erasers can be borrowed at the Library Desk.

A207 is the larger group study room and can accommodate two groups of  up to five students (separated by a screen).


Bookings are taken on a first come, first served basis at the library desk. Alternatively email, tweet or phone (01-4024894) the library to make a booking.

  • Start at the DIT Library Catalogue
  • Select Title Search from the drop down menu

It's never too early to start downloading exam papers as we've discovered this week at the library desk. As there have been so many inquiries here's a quick guide to getting started:

Printing & copying queries: getting started with DATAPAC

At this time of the year the most common inquiry at the Library information desk is how and where can students print and copy.

All the DATAPAC printing and copying information including pricing, locations and mobile printing and e-tutorials is available at ditprint.ie


Any problems with your account and password contact DATAPAC at helpdesk@ditprint.ie or at 087-6243514

A Datapac technician will also be available on site at once a day to assist with queries.

Online dissertations / final year projects for DT223 and DT228 have just been added.

To access the projects:

  • Start at the DIT Library website:
  • From the drop-down search menu choose Title Search
  • Input your course code e.g DT228
  • Select the Online Dissertations option and view/download as required.
 Note: To open the pdfs you will need a Library PIN

Zika Research Resource Portal



Wolters Kluwer Health has recently launched the Zika Resource Portal, a single point of access to clinical knowledge and current information to help healthcare professionals and researchers stay up-to-date on the rapidly spreading virus. The portal provides complimentary access to leading evidence-based point of care clinical, learning and research solutions, as well as continuous updates from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO). Student Group Study Rooms: stationery packs available

Using the Group Study Room areas in the Library for August exams revision or peer tutoring?

Stationery packs containing whiteboard pens, erasers, hdmi cables and data-screen instructions are available to borrow from the library desk when you check-in to use the study rooms. Just bring your student card with you.
