EBSCO databases (Academic Search Complete and ASTI) require temporary off campus login




Off campus access to EBSCO databases is not working. (Access within the DIT network is working as usual). Databases temporarily affected relating to Kevin St. are:
  • Academic Search Complete
  • Applied Science and Technology Index
  • Business Source Complete

EBSCO have provided a work around for off campus access while working to resolve the problem so please use this temporary link when required:

Fundamentals of Biomedical Science eBook Series

Textbooks in the popular Fundamenatals of Biomedical Science series have recently become available as ebooks. Here are the ones recently added to the library collection - just in time for exam prep.   • The Library will be Closed on Monday 5th May for the public holiday
  • Usual semester hours apply at all other times:
    • Monday- Thursday: 9.00-21.30

    • Saturdays: 9.00-16.30

Past exam papers : find them fast.



Welcome back everyone after the student break. Already there have been a lot of queries re. past exam papers today so here's a quick reminder re.access.

  1. At the DIT Library Website click on the Exam Papers link in the Electronic Resources Section.
  2. Next click on 'Quick Link to Recent Exam Papers' at the top of the page.
  3. Then choose your College e.g. College of Sciences and Health
  4. Select the Year(s) required
  5. Finally choose your Course Code and Module Code and open/save the pdfs.
The exam papers are currently stored on the Student Intranet - if you don't have the specific passwords please contact us at kst.library@dit.ie or at 01 402-4894. If an exam paper is not present please contact your module coordinator.

  • Access e-books, e-journals and databases remotely by logging in with your IS password or Library PIN; see Off Campus Access
  • Take a look at the Science and Engineering Subject Guides for more in-depth help and specific links.
  • Link to the Exam Papers here. If you don't have the Student Intranet password for the exam papers contact the Library.

How to find a journal's impact factor

There have been quite a few queries at the info desk this week about how to find a journal's impact factor. The fastest way to do this is to use the Web of Science database via the DIT Library website. Once in the WoS database click on the Journal Citation Reports tab and search by journal title (not the article title!) to obtain either the Impact factor or the Eigenfactor. Kevin St past exam papers for January 2014 have been processed and are now available via the DIT Library Catalogue. To access use the Quick Link to Exam Papers - next select your College, choose 2014, then your course and module codes.
