Extreme waves



A new scientific paper looks at 50 extreme-wave events in Irish waters, from a 67-metre Mayo monster to Galway Bay’s freak 12-metre wave  The new article out this week in Natural Hazards and Earth Systems Sciences describes  historical extreme-wave events in Irish waters, stretching out to the Continental Shelf and back in time to the turn of the last ice age.
