Biological Sciences at Intute - new coverage

Improved and extended coverage of the Biological Sciences in Intute

The Intute: Biological Sciences section was launched in January 09 containing more than 600 Web resources. A wide variety of resource types have been evaluated and included in the collection:

Image libraries and movies (e.g the Microscope Imaging Station)
Virtual Laboratories (e.g The HHMI Virtual Immunology Lab)
Educational Animations (e.gThe Virtual Cell Animation Collection)
Tutorials (e.g Construction of a DNA Library)
Seminars (e.g the American Institute of Biological Sciences Annual Meeting )
Lectures (e.g Connecting Concepts - interactive lessons in biology)
OpenCourseware material (e.g MIT OpenCourseWare Molecular Biology)
Wiki and other Web 2.0 resources (e.g MicrobeWiki and MicrobiologyBytes)
Open access journals and full-text reports (e.g BMC Cell Biology)

International Journal of Physical Sciences is a monthly, peer-reviewed, online journal. It covers topics in physics and chemistry, including artificial intelligence, neural processing, nuclear and particle physics, geophysics, physics in medicine and biology, plasma physics, semiconductor science and technology, wireless and optical communications, materials science, energy and fuels, environmental science and technology, combinatorial chemistry, natural products, molecular therapeutics, geochemistry, crystallography.

‘The Annual Reviews Collection’ is a series of review articles reproduced from various ‘Annual Review’ journals. The reviews cover minor groove binding proteins, ubiquitin and secretory protein trafficking, small G proteins in yeast cell polarization and wall biosynthesis, GCN5-related N-acetyltransferases, protein folding, dynamin and membrane fission, membrane binding domains in signalling and subcellular targeting, phosphoinositide-specific phospholipase C, viral interference with MHC Class I antigen processing and presentation, minimal-gene-set concept and horizontal gene transfer in prokaryotes.
